8 tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
2 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. allspice
1/4 t. nutmeg
3/4 c. 2% reduced-fat milk
2 T. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar 2 eggs, beaten
1 t. vanilla extract
1-1/2 c. low-fat biscuit baking mix, divided
1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
3 T. chilled butter
In a large bowl, toss apples with spices. Spoon apple mixture into a lightly greased slow cooker. In separate bowl, combine milk, softened butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and 1/2 cup baking mix; stir until well mixed. Spoon batter over apples. Place remaining baking mix and brown sugar in small bowl. Cut in chilled butter until coarse crumbs form. Sprinkle over batter in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 7 hours. Makes 12 servings.
