I have had this cookbook for years, and never opened it until this past Thanksgiving, when I made the holiday dinner at our mountain cabin. I decided to make a pumpkin pie from scratch, with a real pumpkin. I used the recipe in this book, and WOW! It was awesome. I've made pumpkin pies for almost 45 years, and never thought to use molasses...it is THE secret ingredient that made it very yummy!

I love this cookbook. It is my favorite of all of my Gooseberry Patch books. I have made so many of the recipes. I use it throughout the year, not just at Christmas time. When I need a quick and warm dessert, I turn to the Cinnamon Pudding Cake. The tips and shared memories also make this book special. This would be my first choice for gift-giving. Highly recommend!

Farmhouse Christmas was the very first Gooseberry Patch book I bought. It was to be a Christmas gift for a good friend but as I browsed through the pages before wrapping it, I soon realized that I had to keep this wonderful cookbook for myself. I bought two other Gooseberry Patch cookbooks at the same time and they also became the start of my collection.
