Family Favorites was the first Gooseberry Cookbook that I bought and it is still my go to favorite even though I have many others. Some of my family's favorites are Overnight Apple French Toast, Baked Potato Soup and Chicken Surprise casserole. Even today I can be looking for something new and find it in this book. Hmm...I'm looking at trying the Artichoke and Tomato Casserole tonight....something I might not have tried 13 years ago when my kids were little!

I've had this cookbook for nearly ten years, and I keep coming back to it. I love the Autumn Spice Bread, it's a great recipe that allows you to keep one loaf and give another to a friend, Mama's Sunday Pork Chops are a slow cooked oven favorite and the leftovers freeze well, and the Chocolate Sunday Pie takes me back to the chocolate meringue my mother used to make. These are wonderful recipes that are sure to become favorites in your family!

The summer my brother and sisters came at the same time to visit, I prepared several of the recipes. They enjoyed them so much, that as a surprise that Christmas, I ordered "Family Favorites" to be included in their 'family gift box' for that year. It reminded them of the memories we had made that summer, and how much we treasured our time spent together.
