Gooseberry Patch has combined the lasagna loving characters from Jim Davis's Garfield cartoon strip with family friendly, easy fixin' recipes to create an entertaining cookbook. Packed with two hundred thirty tasty recipes collected from around the country, dozens of helpful hints and more, busy cooks will be reaching for this straightforward, tried and true collection frequently. For those for whom bacon is in its own separate food group there is delectable "Brown Sugar-Glazed Bacon" and one need not be sick to appreciate "Mom's Chicken Soup for a Cold" recipe. The "3-Cheese Spinach Rigatoni" is so satisfying no one will realize it is also meatless but if that is too light for your taste, indulge in "Vito's Deep-Dish Sausage Pizza" made easy with the use of frozen bread dough. Naturally, there are plenty of desserts like "Caramel Apple Cake", incredibly easy "Triple Fudgy Brownies" or the crowd pleasing "Mocha Party Cake." Even your four footed friends are remembered with cat treats and dog biscuits. The flat-laying spiral binding is especially nice as it allows cooks to concentrate on their cooking, not fighting to keep the book open to the correct page. Time compressed cooks will appreciate the use of shortcuts such as frozen dough, biscuit and cake mixes and everyday pantry items that make putting a nutritious, tasty meal easy to put on the table in short order. Don't expect haute cuisine here, just good fare the entire family will enjoy so dive into Garfield's world of pasta and more.

When I heard that Gooseberry Patch was pairing up with Garfield to create a new cookbook I was virtually first in line! I’ve got little green tabs sticking out all over this cookbook for recipes that I want to try. I’ve already tried 3 of them and they were a hit with the whole family! There are so many delicious recipes in this collection I had a hard time choosing which ones I would share. Even my finicky eater was drawn to this cookbook, thanks to Garfield. It’s definitely an entertaining read for all ages, lots of giggles throughout the pages. Some of the recipes you can look forward to seeing here this week are Crispy Chicken Nuggets, Cheesy White Pizza, Good Ol’ Spaghetti & Meatballs, Garfield’s Pizza Bites, Cream Cheese Danish, Chicken Chimies, Caramel Apple Cake, Mom’s Meatloaf, Buttery Mashed Potatoes, Double the Fun Fudge, and Garlicky Parmesan Asparagus.
