 March E-letter 2009
 Vickie & Jo Ann

This month we're focusing on creating a little happiness and gathering our friends together for some girl time. It seems like everyone is feeling "the pinch" in one way or another...so take a little time together to smile and just have some fun.

Did you know March is National Craft Month? Why not celebrate with a Crafternoon? You'll love our photo craft idea...and because crafty souls need refreshment, wait 'til you try our recipe for pizza fondue!

So...keep it easy, keep it fun. Let's celebrate the little things this month!

 Crafternoon Fun

Get out your colored pencils...it's time to get crafty!

Have some nostalgic family photos but you're not quite sure what to do with them? Gather your girlfriends and get crafting with this super-simple craft. All you need is a set of colored pencils, some fine-tipped markers, scrapbook glue and a pretty assortment of scrapbook papers. Have everyone bring black & white photocopies of favorite family photos and a few sheets of scrapbook paper to use or share. Color the photocopies as you like, trim and adhere onto scrapbook paper backgrounds. Frame any way you like. These make colorful and oh-so personal gifts...why not make some notecards too?

The 'before' photos...          After you've added hand-coloring...

 Pizza Fondue

After all of that crafting, of course, you'll need some snacks! Enjoy this delicious recipe from our 101 Homestyle Favorites cookbook!

Pizza Fondue

1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 10-oz. cans pizza sauce
1 T. cornstarch
1-1/2 t. fennel seed
1-1/2 t. dried oregano
1/4 t. garlic powder
2-1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
2 loaves French bread, sliced and toasted

Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat; drain. Add remaining ingredients except bread; simmer until cheese melts. Serve hot with bread slices for dipping. Serves 6 to 8.
