1 lb. ground Italian pork sausage 1/2 c. onion, chopped 1/2 c. green pepper, chopped 4-1/4 c. water, divided 1/2 t. Italian seasoning 1/4 t. garlic powder 1/4 t. dried basil 1/8 t. dried rosemary 1/8 t. salt 1/8 t. pepper 2-15 oz. jars pizza sauce 2 tomatoes, chopped 6 oz. pkg. pepperoni, chopped Garnish: shredded mozzarella cheese, chopped mushrooms
In a skillet over medium heat brown sausage, drain, add onion, green pepper and 1/4 c. water; sauté until tender. Stir in seasonings. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine pizza sauce, remaining water, tomatoes, pepperoni and sausage mixture. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about 15 minutes. At serving time, top each bowl with shredded cheese and chopped mushrooms. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
