1-1/2 c. whole wheat flour 1 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 t. baking soda 2 t. sugar 1 t. salt 1-1/4 c. buttermilk
Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add enough buttermilk to make a soft dough. Knead on lightly floured board for about 2 minutes. Form into 2 round loaves. Cut a cross in the middle of each loaf. Place loaves on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes until golden. Makes 2 small loaves, serves 4.
