1/2 c. butter 1/3 c. baking cocoa 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed 1/4 c. milk 3-1/2 c. powdered sugar 1 t. vanilla extract 30 caramels, unwrapped 1 T. water 2 c. salted peanuts 1/2 c. milk chocolate chips 1/2 c. butterscotch chips
Combine butter, cocoa, brown sugar and milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high setting until mixture comes to a boil, about 2 minutes. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Pour into a lightly greased 8"x8" baking pan; set aside. In another microwave-safe bowl, combine caramels and water on high setting until melted, about 2 minutes. Stir in peanuts; carefully spread over cocoa layer. Combine milk chocolate and butterscotch chips in a microwave-safe bowl; microwave on high setting until melted, about one minute. Drizzle over caramel layer. Chill until firm; let stand 15 to 20 minutes at room temperature before cutting into squares. Makes one dozen.
