1/4 c. oil 1/2 c. onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1 c. tomato puree 1 c. water 1 bay leaf, crushed 3 whole cloves 1 T. chili powder 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed 1/4 c. cider vinegar
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat; add onion
and garlic. Cook until onion is clear. Add remaining
ingredients; simmer until sauce has thickened. Makes about 2-1/2 cups.
