1 c. butter-flavored shortening ¾ c. sugar ½ c. brown sugar, packed 2 eggs, beaten 2 T. milk 1 t. vanilla extract 2 T. baking cocoa 2-1/3 c. all-purpose flour 1 t. baking soda ½ t. salt 1 c. chopped pecans 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chunks
In a large bowl, beat shortening and sugars; blend in eggs, milk and vanilla. In another bowl, combine remaining ingredients except pecans and chocolate chunks; add to shortening mixture, blending well. Fold in pecans and chocolate chunks. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets; bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire racks. Makes 6 dozen
