18-1/2 oz. German chocolate cake mix 14-oz. caramels, unwrapped 1/2 c. evaporated milk 1/2 c. margarine 1 c. chopped walnuts 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Prepare cake according to package directions; pour half of the batter into a greased and floured 13"x9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Melt caramels, milk and margarine in a saucepan; blend well and spread over baked cake. Sprinkle with walnuts and chocolate chips; pour remaining batter over top. Bake for an additional 20 minutes; cool. Serves 8 to 12.
