1/2 lb. butter 3 egg yolks 3 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. plus 1 T. sugar, divided 1 pkg. cake yeast 1/2 c. warm milk 7 to 8 oz. walnuts, crushed 3 egg whites, beaten 1 t. vanilla extract
Mix butter and yolks; add flour. Dissolve one tablespoon sugar and yeast in warm milk and add to the flour mixture. Divide dough into 4 balls. Chill overnight. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients; set aside. Roll each dough ball into a rectangle and spread with 1/4 of the filling; roll up jelly roll-style. Bake at 350 degrees on a greased cookie sheet until golden. Makes 4 nut rolls.
