Sometimes, when my hometown seems far away, as it often does, I turn to this cookbook for comfort. I have to tell you, the cinnamon pumpkin pancakes with apple cider syrup are phenomenal! The early riser special is a wonderful breakfast, when paired with country style baked fruit...you've got brunch for 8 people in a jiffy!
Grandma's buttermilk waffles are a wonderful way to start the day, cream of chicken rice soup is better than anything you'll ever find in a can and makes enough for a big crowd, homestyle potato chowder will become a weeknight favorite, sour cream chicken casserole is so warm and comforting, and pumpkin crisp is a fabulous fall dessert. If you can't make it back to your hometown, try some of these recipes...they'll take you back in time!
