I have had this cookbook for years, and never opened it until this past Thanksgiving, when I made the holiday dinner at our mountain cabin. I decided to make a pumpkin pie from scratch, with a real pumpkin. I used the recipe in this book, and WOW! It was awesome. I've made pumpkin pies for almost 45 years, and never thought to use molasses...it is THE secret ingredient that made it very yummy!

I am very happy to have my recipe, "Wash Day Stew" published in this cookbook; but I also want you to know how wonderful all of the recipes are. I especially enjoy reading the stories behind the recipes, some very touching and some quite humorous. A great book for my collection!

This is a great book. It is great for the holidays but several recipes are great for year round. It is a good gift for any cookbook collector.

I love this cookbook. It is my favorite of all of my Gooseberry Patch books. I have made so many of the recipes. I use it throughout the year, not just at Christmas time. When I need a quick and warm dessert, I turn to the Cinnamon Pudding Cake. The tips and shared memories also make this book special. This would be my first choice for gift-giving. Highly recommend!

Farmhouse Christmas was the very first Gooseberry Patch book I bought. It was to be a Christmas gift for a good friend but as I browsed through the pages before wrapping it, I soon realized that I had to keep this wonderful cookbook for myself. I bought two other GP cookbooks at the same time and they also became the start of my collection.

This was my first Gooseberry Patch Cookbook as well and I just love it. Our favorite recipe is the Garden Meatloaf on page 99.- my husband just adores it!

This was one of my 1st Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks, and the reason I have all the rest! I lived in a 100 year old farmhouse, so this cookbook was perfect for this city girl. The book gave me the warm fuzzy feeling, and every recipe, story, and easy homemade treasures just made me feel at home. What would I do without Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks, where would I go for that warm fuzzy at home feeling? Our favorite family recipe is Cream of Fresh Tomato Soup on page 76, perfect for that cold winter day in the old farmhouse! Thank you Vickie & JoAnn, for always making me feel right at home.
