4 apples, peeled, cored and sliced 1/2 c. butter, softened and divided 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed 1 t. cinnamon 1/8 t. nutmeg 6 eggs 1 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. milk 3 T. sugar Optional: warm maple syrup
Combine apples, 1/4 c. butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a microwave-safe bowl; heat on high setting for about 2 to 4 minutes, until tender. Spoon into a lightly greased 13"x9" baking pan and set aside. Combine eggs, flour, milk, sugar and remaining butter; blend until smooth and spread over apple mixture. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes. Top with syrup if desired. Serves 6 to 8. | |
