Biscuit & Beef Casserole

1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
16-oz. can pork & beans
3/4 c. barbecue sauce
2 T. brown sugar, packed
1 T. dried, minced onion
1 t. salt
16.3-oz. tube refrigerated jumbo flaky biscuits, halved
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese


Combine all ingredients except biscuits and cheese in a large saucepan over medium heat. Heat until bubbly; pour into a lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish. Place biscuits cut-side down around edge of casserole dish; sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes, until biscuits are golden. Serves 4 to 6.
