2 c. whole-wheat flour 1 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 c. sugar 1 t. salt 2 t. baking soda 2 c. buttermilk Optional: 3/4 c. raisins
In a large bowl, stir together flours, sugar and salt; set aside. In a separate bowl, dissolve baking soda in buttermilk. Stir buttermilk mixture into flour mixture; beat well. Fold in raisins, if desired. Pour batter into a lightly greased 9"x5" loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour, until golden. Cool on a wire rack. Makes one loaf. | |
