1 lb. bacon 2 lbs. ground beef 1/2 t. salt 1/4 t. pepper 1/4 t. garlic powder 8 eggs Optional: 1 T. butter 8 hamburger buns, split 8 slices cheese Garnish: lettuce leaves, sliced onion, sliced tomato, pickle chips
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp; drain and set aside. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, sprinkle beef with seasonings; form into 8 patties. In the same skillet over medium heat, cook patties until
no longer pink inside. Drain and set aside. Gently crack 4 eggs into the same skillet, adding butter if desired. Cook over medium-low heat until whites are set and yolks are partially cooked; set aside. Cook remaining
eggs. To serve, top the bottom of each bun with a beef patty and a cheese slice; place on a broiler pan. Broil until cheese is melted. Top each with one fried egg and 2 slices bacon; add desired garnishes and top halves
of buns. Makes 8 servings. | |
