2 c. all-purpose flour 4 t. baking powder 1/4 t. baking soda 3/4 t. salt 5 T. chilled butter, diced 1 c. buttermilk
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a food processor; add butter. Pulse just until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Transfer mixture to a large bowl, add buttermilk. Stir until mixture begins to hold together. Turn out onto a lightly floured surgace. Working quickly, knead until most of the dough sticks together. Pat out dough into a circle 1/2 inch thick. Cut with a biscuit cutter, quickly re-gathering dough until about 8 biscuits are cut. Arrange biscuits in a parchment paper-lined 13”x9” baking pan. Set pan on center oven rack. Bake at 450 degrees for about 10 minutes, until lightly golden. Serve warm. Makes about 8 servings. | |
