1/2 lb. bacon, cut into bite-size pieces 14-oz. pkg. Kielbasa sausage, cut into bite-size pieces 1 onion, chopped 1 head cabbage, sliced into 4-inch strips 1/2 to 1 c. chicken broth 1/4 c. butter 1/2 t. caraway seed 1/2 t. celery seed 1/2 t. salt 1/2 t. pepper 8-oz. pkg kluski egg noodles, uncooked
In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook bacon and Kielbasa with onion until onion is tender. Transfer mixture to a bowl; cover and set aside. In the same Dutch oven, cook cabbage with chicken broth, butter and seasonings until cabbage is tender. Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package directions, just until tender; drain. Add cooked noodles and bacon mixture to cabbage mixture in Dutch oven. Stir gently and heat through. Makes 8 to 10 servings. | |
