Scalloped Scallops

3/4 c. butter, melted
2 c. round buttery crackers, crushed
1 c. bread crumbs
1-1/2 lbs. scallops, divided
1-1/2 c. half-and-half, divided
salt and pepper to taste
2 t. paprika
Garnish: 1 lemon, sliced into 4 to 6 wedges


Combine butter, crushed cracker crumbs and bread crumbs; mix well. Sprinkle one-third in the bottom of a buttered 1-1/2 quart casserole dish; top with half the scallops. Pour on half the cream; salt and pepper to taste. Repeat layers; top with remaining bread crumb mixture. Sprinkle with paprika; bake at 350 degrees until scallops are heated through, about 30 to 40 minutes. Spoon onto serving plates; garnish each with a lemon wedge. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
