21-oz. can cherry pie filling
1-1/2 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
2 3-oz. pkgs. cherry gelatin mix
12-oz. can cola soda
Topping:
16 marshmallows
3-oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/2 pt. whipping cream, whipped
Garnish: slivered almonds
Mix cherry pie filling, water, and sugar together in a saucepan; bring to a boil. While boiling, add gelatin. Remove from heat and stir until dissolved. Pour into a bowl and refrigerate until mixture is syrupy.
Add cola slowly, as it will foam; chill until set. Make topping: melt marshmallows in a double-boiler. Combine melted marshmallows and cream cheese; mix well. Fold in whipped cream. Spread topping evenly over the top; garnish with almonds. Makes 8 servings.
