Emma's Gingerbread Muffins

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine, softened
1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. golden or light corn syrup
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 t. cinnamon
2 t. ground ginger
1 t. nutmeg
1-3/4 t. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk


Blend together sugar, margarine and shortening. Beat in eggs, one at a time; add syrups and set aside. Sift together flour and spices. Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk; add alternately to batter with flour. Fill greased and floured muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Makes 2 dozen.
