5 to 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 2 sleeves round buttery crackers, crushed 1/2 c. plus 3 T. butter, melted 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 3/4 c. milk 10-3/4 oz. can Cheddar cheese soup 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese 3 Golden Delicious apples, cored and sliced
Place chicken in a large pot of boiling water. Cook for 8 to
10 minutes; set aside. Combine crumbs with 1/2 cup butter; mix thoroughly. Add remaining butter to a saucepan; stir in flour and cook about one minute, stirring often. Add milk, soup and cheese; stir to blend until cheese is melted. Place chicken in a greased 13"x9" baking pan. Cover chicken with cheese sauce, top with
sliced apples and sprinkle with cracker mixture. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Makes 6 servings. | |
