14-oz. can whole-berry cranberry sauce 1 T. Worcestershire sauce 1/4 c. barbecue sauce 1 c. beef broth 2 T. cider vinegar 1 t. mustard 1/4 t. garlic powder 1/2 t. seasoned salt 1/8 t. smoked paprika 6 c. roast turkey, shredded 1 T. cornstarch 2 T. cold water 12 sandwich buns, split and warmed or toasted light mayonnaise-style salad dressing to taste Optional: 12 slices Swiss cheese, 3 c. creamy coleslaw
In a large saucepan, combine all sauces, beef broth, vinegar, mustard and seasonings. Mix well; fold in turkey. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Mix together cornstarch and water in a cup; add to mixture in pan. Cook and stir until sauce is slightly thickened. At serving time, spread cut sides of buns with salad dressing. Fill each bun with 1/2 cup turkey mixture. If desired, top each with one slice cheese and 1/4 cup coleslaw. Cover with bun tops and serve immediately. Makes 12 sandwiches. | |
