1 sleeve saltine crackers
1 c. butter, melted
2 t. vanilla extract
1 c. sugar
12-oz. pkg. semi-sweet
chocolate chips
1 c. sliced almonds
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil; grease. Arrange crackers in a single layer on baking sheet; set aside. Stir together butter, vanilla and sugar in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Spread mixture over crackers; bake at 400 degrees for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat; sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let stand until chips are melted; spread chips over sugar mixture. Sprinkle with almonds; chill for about 2 hours. Break into bite-size pieces. Makes about 2 dozen.
