1 unbeaten egg
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 t. vanilla extract
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
In a bowl, stir together egg, brown sugar and vanilla. Quickly stir in flour, baking soda and salt; fold in walnuts. Spread batter in a greased 8"x8" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes; will be soft in center. Cool in pan on a wire rack; cut into squares. Makes one dozen.
