2⁄3 c. butter, softened
2-1⁄4 c. brown sugar, packed
4 eggs
1 t. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
12-oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Beat butter and brown sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, just until blended. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl; gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, stirring until blended. Stir in chocolate chips; spoon batter into a greased 13"x9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares. Store in an airtight container. Makes 1-1⁄2 dozen.
