2*16-oz. pkgs. mild and/or hot Italian pork sausage 1 c. all-purpose flour 2 eggs, beaten 2/3 c. milk 1 t. kosher salt 1 t. dried oregano Optional: chopped onions, tomatoes, green pepper, mushrooms, olives 2*15-oz. cans pizza sauce 8-oz. pkg. shredded mozzarella cheese, or more to taste
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown sausage. Drain; remove from heat and let stand for 15 to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix together flour, eggs, milk and seasonings. Pour batter into a greased rimmed baking sheet, tilting to cover edges. Spread sausage on batter to cover pan; add other toppings as desired. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes; remove from oven. Spread pizza sauce on top; cover completely with cheese. Return to oven and bake another 10 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted. Serves 4 to 6. | |
