Grandma’s Pecan Balls

1 c. butter, softened
1/3 c. sugar
2 t. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. pecans, chopped
Garnish: powdered sugar


Blend butter and sugar in a medium bowl, stir in vanilla and flour. Stir in pecans. Roll dough into walnut-size balls, arrange on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. While still warm, sprinkle cookies with powdered sugar, sprinkle again before serving. Makes 2 doz.
