1/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. vanilla extract
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat; remove from heat. Stir in brown sugar until dissolved; set aside to cool to room temperature. Blend in egg; add flour, baking powder and salt, mixing well. Stir in vanilla and nuts; spread into a greased 8"x8" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes; let cool. Makes 9.
