10 c. tart apples, cored, peeled and sliced
1/3 c. sugar
2 T. cornstarch
1 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. nutmeg
2 T. chilled butter, sliced
Place apples in a 2-1/2 quart microwave-safe bowl; set aside. Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg; sprinkle over apples. Toss gently to coat; dot with butter. Cover and microwave on high until apples are tender, about 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
