5 slices bacon
2-1/2 c. fresh corn kernels
2 c. green cabbage, shredded
1/2 c. water
1 t. sugar
1/2 t. salt
1/8 t. pepper
Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp. Drain bacon on a paper towel; crumble and set aside. Reserve 2 tablespoons drippings in
skillet; add corn, cabbage and water. Cover and cook until cabbage is tender, about 5 minutes. Add sugar, seasonings and crumbled bacon; mix lightly. Makes 6 servings.
