Featured Tip:  Antique quilts that are torn can still be used! They make wonderful table runners; doll quilts or Christmas tree skirts.

The journey to Grandma’s house ended by driving down a long, bumpy farm lane and coming to a handsome old farmhouse set among tall trees. We’d visit on the porch for a while, and then when we couldn’t sit still any longer, we’d run inside where delicious scents greeted us!

Her best-loved recipes were never written down, they were always just A Pinch of This, A Dash of That, which we felt was the perfect title for this cookbook! It’s full of the best recipes we remember from family homecomings…Yankee Fried Chicken, Whipped Sweet Potatoes, Mom’s Potato Salad, Feather Bed Rolls, Daisy Brown Sugar Cookies and Honey Bun Cake. We’ve also tucked in lots of fun quotes full of good, old-fashioned advice!

So take some time to settle down in the porch swing and plan a family homecoming…enjoy the pleasure of old and new friendships and happy times with family! Hardcover, 224 pages. (9-1/4" x 6-1/2")

    The Best Cookbook

This cookbook makes time rewind itself. It takes me back to my grandparents farm...down a long bumpy lane to a farmhouse amongst the tall trees. I can still see my grandmother in her farm kitchen, baking delicious pies, cakes and cookies. Roast chicken was the menu every Sunday after church. I will treasure those memories forever. What makes it more special, I now own that old farmhouse.

    Awesome Recipes

I have been collecting Gooseberry Cookbooks from the very beginning. I can honestly say that this is one of my favorites. I have used it so much that many of the pages are stained and the binding is actually wearing out! Dont know what I would do without it. Thank you

    Brings back so many memories!,

This cookbook has become my very favorite...my Grandma never wrote down any of her recipes for me, but this book includes recipes sent in from people around the country, who got their recipes from their mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers and even farther back! It brings so many memories of growing up and coming in from building snowmen with wet toes to a delicious, hot meal. Now I try to create that same feeling for my children, and this book is my main resource! A must-have!

    Superb

Every recipe is easy to make, turns out great, and doesn't require exotic ingredients. I have made many recipes in this book and they are all excellent. In fact, this is a book I refer to often when planning my monthly menu. I particularly like the ideas and little comments that accompany many of the recipes. They are uplifting and gentle, yet they don't distract from the recipes. Even the little drawings are nice. This is a nice book to read, if you are like me and enjoy reading recipe books. If I had to have only ONE Gooseberry patch cookbook, this would be the one. It is that good. Enjoy!
