Where does Gooseberry Patch get the recipes it publishes in its cookbooks?
Gooseberry Patch gets its recipes from home cooks all across the country, and even overseas. Recipes are submitted via Gooseberry Patch's website, or mailed in to us. We received thousands of tried & true recipe submissions from our contributors every year, and from those we hand-select the best for publishing in our upcoming titles.

When is the next call for recipe submissions?

What happened to the Gooseberry Patch catalog?
Originally, Gooseberry Patch started in 1984 as a mail-order catalog business. After many successful years in retail sales, in 2010, Gooseberry Patch made the difficult decision to discontinue the catalog business and focus on cookbook and calendar publishing exclusively. Mail-order sales had fallen off dramatically, due to the economic downturn in the United States and increased competition from Internet retailers. While we miss our “Country Store in a Mailbox," we are excited to focus exclusively on our growing cookbook collection. Since our first cookbook in 1992, we've gone from publishing one or two books a year to 15-20 new titles every year!
